The Subdued Saunter in Bellingham WA
On Saturday October 4th, I had what I would consider one of the most amazing and challenging shoots of my career. Not so much in terms of the technical skill, but with regard to the sheer physical pressure and toll it took to accomplish capturing both photo and video assets for walk and roll bellingham's event the "Subdued Saunter".
For 20 miles I captured and documented the stories, experiences & fun had by staff and participants on what I would consider one of the most humbling and centering events of my life. Sharing a unified purpose and goal, with such a diverse and kindhearted team of 80+ participants healed my soul in so many different ways. This unintentional dopamine detox was so freaking good.
20 miles later, camera and good memories in hand, I even said yes to going another 6.2 miles, just to properly even out the experience.
53,000 steps latter, and an absurd amount of Costco pizza, I feel ready to fight for and attack my work with a completely different fervor and passion then I had before! Working with brands that push for healthy lifestyles and true connections is just a small part of the broader focus I have for the way I want my business, and my lens, to share stories moving forward.
